PNG Honors ICTA's Piret and Fuljenz

The Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) director of industry affairs, Diane Piret, received the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award at the PNG annual awards banquet on August 4, 2014.

Piret has been actively involved with numismatics and precious metals for more than 40 years, and has worked with ICTA since 1989 on local, state, and federal legislative matters affecting the profession and hobby. She has also been a crusader for dealer education.

FDIC removes list of “high-risk” businesses

We alerted our members two months ago that the Department of Justice (DOJ) launched Operation Choke Point to crack down on fraud in the payments system by investigating banks and payment processors. Members were also assured that ICTA Legislative Consultant Jimmy Hayes does not believe that coin dealers will be a target of this overreaching initiative by the DOJ.

Piret named 2014 Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award winner

Diane PiretDiane Piret will be recognized as the 2014 recipient of the American Numismatic Association's Elvira Clain-Stefanelli Memorial Award for Achievement in Numismatics on Aug. 8, during the Awards Banquet at the Chicago World's Fair of Money® in Rosemont, Illinois.

Crenshaw 2014 ANA Glenn Smedley Memorial Award Honoree

The recipients of the 2014 Medal of Merit, Glenn Smedley Memorial Award, Adna G. Wilde Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence, Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture and Exemplary Service Award will be formally recognized at the upcoming Chicago World's Fair of MoneySM, to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, Aug. 5-9.

ICTA launches new website

The Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) launched today a new website at ictaonline.org.
